Eric Houzelot

Born in 1954, Eric Houzelot lives between Paris and Marseille (France).

In 1975, after medical studies, he started his stage actor career performing with Michel Massé and the company 4 LITRES 12 (4 Litres 12 in concerto). In 1989 he turned towards contemporary dance, working on movement and voice with Georges Appaix (Basta!). He also performed with Philippe Decouflés Petites pièces montées, Mathilde Monnier (Les lieux de là), Jérôme Bel (Jérôme Bel). In 1996 hereprised André Wilms solo role in Ou bien le débarquement désastreux directed by Heiner Goebbels. In 1997 he was a stage actor with Jan Lauwers & Needcompany (Macbeth). Then, he mainly performed on stage with Jean Lambert-Wild (Orgia).

Since 2000, he has realized, alone or with partners, art performances inside museums (Fondation Cartier Paris, Carré d'Art Nîmes, MACBA Barcelona, MAC Marseille, Centre Pompidou Paris). In 2011, he was a stage actor in an opera (Le Nez) directed by William Kentridge.
