Creation 2009 / nieuwZwart

At the beginning of this year, Wim Vadekeybus re-formed his prize-winning company Ultima Vez. 

Creation 2009 / nieuwZwart is the very first work of this company of eight young performers.  In this latest work Vandekeybus, famous for his radical, physical and highly energetic choreography, experiments with different and new forms and possibilities of physicality and movement.  At the thematic heart of Creation 2009 / nieuwZwart are accelerated changes of the body within the environment, inevitable instincts, and man’s troubled search for the point(lessness) of his existence in apparently absurd everyday moments.

Mauro Pawlowski, guitarist with the well-known Belgian band dEUS, is responsible for the composition of the original score and brings his own eclectic tonal cosmos to the creation process.  To riveting live sound, the performers in Creation 2009 / nieuwZwart once again test the limits of their physical possibilities and open up a world of irrepressible energy to the audience.
