Concerts in Maschinenhaus: Jean-Guihen Queyras

An evening with the multifaceted cellist Jean-Guihen Queyras promises to be a unique journey through the world of cello music. On a long evening with two intermissions, Queyras will not only perform all of Bach’s cello suites but also play a brief contemporary introduction to each of the six suites that reflects on Bach’s solo work from a contemporary perspective.

The weekly shift of perspective from the large halls to the spatial proximity and concentration of solo recitals of musicians from the international improvisational community and classical chamber music, once again defines the rhythm of the festival. The direct contact to the musicians and the wonderfully balanced acoustics of Maschinenhaus enables a view of details and thus intensifies the experience of music.
