Liliana Nikiteanu
After music studies in her home town Bucharest Mezzosoprano Liliana Nikiteanu made her stage debut at the opera in Galati, Romania, before joining Zurich Opera in 1991. Her roles in Zurich include the Witch in Königskinder, Federica in Luisa Miller, Jezibaba in Rusalka, Fricka in Das Rheingold, Ino in Semele and Ragonde in Le Comte Ory. Guest performances have taken her to Paris, Vienna, Brussels, Munich, Dresden, Madrid as well as to the festivals in Salzburg, Bregenz, Edinburgh and Aix-en-Provence. Her concert repertory reaches from J.S. Bach to Luciano Berio. She sang Verdi's Requiem in Copenhagen, Mozart's Requiem in São Paulo, Berlioz' Les nuits d'été in Paris, Mahler's Lied von der Erde in Interlaken and Rossini's Petite Messe Solennelle in Geneva. Her plans in 2012/13 include Bruckner's Te Deum with Zubin Mehta in Tel Aviv and Salzburg; Schnittke's Faust Cantata with Vladimir Fedoseyev and the Orchestre Philharmonique de Radio France in Paris; Ragonde in Le Comte Ory at the Theater an der Wien, Mary in The Flying Dutchman and Jezibaba in Rusalka in Zurich.
