Florian Bilbao

Dancer and choreographer Florian Bilbao was born in 1979 in Libourne (France) and studied contemporary dance in Montpellier and Angers (Centre National de danse contemporaine). He lives and works in Berlin since 2002.
Bilbao worked with Xavier Le Roy, Felix Ruckert, Dieter Heitkamp, Rubato, Tino Sehgal, Nir de Volff, Sommer Ulrickson, Christoph Winkler. His pieces in collaboration with the actor Jörg Schiebe and the painter Sylvain Brugier have been touring in Germany for the last years. He is reponsible for the choregraphic adaptation from the project City Maquette created by Mathilde Monnier since 2007. This project has been recreated in Evry, Paris, Reims, Montpellier, Lille (France), Woking (UK) and Guimaraes (Portugal). Together with Livia Patrizi Bilbao founded the young company of the education project TanzZeit with whom he choregraphed the piece Brief an LF coproduced by Radialsystem, Berlin and Theater Massalia, Marseille. He is the artistic coordinator and choregraph of the dance project of the Movimentos Akademie in Wolfsburg for the year 2011-2012.
