Since the mid 1980s, Jan Lauwers & Needcompanyhave been developing a unique theater aesthetic that moves along the lines dividing theater, dance, performance, and fine art. The international ensemble has enjoyed great success with its oft multi-lingual productions at the Salzburger Festspiele and Festival d'Avignon, and are currently artists in residence at Burgtheater Wien. Their new piece Marketplace 76 premieres at the Ruhrtriennale on September 7.
