Marianne Faithfull
Marianne Faithfull was born in Hampstead, London.The world-famous singer and performer had her first singing success with As Tears Go By, written by Mick Jagger and Keith Richards, and became an icon of swinging London in the Sixties. As an actress, she first came to attention in the stage plays Three Sisters by Anton Chekov and as Ophelia in Shakespeare’s Hamlet, she made her film debut in 1968 in the film Girl On A Motorcyle. In 1979 she celebrated a furioso singing comeback with Broken English. Further albums followed, amongst them Vagabond Ways, which came out in 1999. Over the following years Marianne Faithfull appeared again as performer, for example in Intimacy in 2001 and Irina Palm in 2006. Her album Easy Come, Easy Go came out at the end of 2008.
