Ake has been in a wheelchair since his accident. He rejects the world around him in bitterness. His father, a cold-feeling patriarch, employs a new carer who slowly breaks through the boy’s cynical rejection with his stoic equanimity. »Is life possible without a past and a future?« Director Anocha Suwichakornpong answers the boy’s worried question with a surreal and hallucinatory explosion of the universe, a declaration of love to the inexorable course of events.
