Albert Ostermaier
The author lives and works in Munich. His literary career began in 1988 with the publication of his first poems. He has worked as a dramatist and librettist since 1993. His plays for the theatre have been staged by numerous well-known directors including Andrea Breth and Martin Kušej. AlbertOstermaier has been honoured with many prizes and awards, most recently in February 2010 with the Bertolt Brecht Prize. His poems and plays have been translated into several languages and received international productions. He wrote Sing für mich, Tod for the Ruhrtriennale 2009. In February 2010 the opera The Devil’s Tragedy, for which Albert Ostermaier wrote the libretto, receives its world premiere at the Bavarian State Opera
