Anne Tismer

Anne Tismer studied Law and Chinese Studies in Hamburg as well as Performance at the Max-Reinhardt Seminar in Vienna. She works as a performance artist mainly in Brussels, Berlin and Togo. In 1992 Die wundersame Schustersfrau with Anne Tismer in the title role was awarded a prize by the Enrique-Beck-Stiftung. In 1994 she was awarded a prize by the journal Prinz for Richard 2.  In 1995 she was named North Westphalian Actress of the Year for her Medea, and in 2003 she won the German Critics Prize, the 3sat Prize and was named Actress of the Year for her Nora. Anne Tismer frequently works together with John Bock and at the Ballhaus Ost. Since 2003 Anne Tismer has created the following performance actions: ikea 1.versuch, todesstreifen, tokio ueno, tokio strand, bongani, anne-ka, la fiancée, and moi - judith a loméeeeiah! She opened the following installations in Berlin, Brussels and Liège: friedhof, moi - boule de douleur und lomé - la fiancée.
