Plug & PlayMe

Plug & PlayMe combines technoid club culture and avant-garde mu-sic to create a new reality: while more and more composers of new music are breaking with established formats by putting instruments and electronics together with video and performance and ending up homeless, in a club environment more and more DJs are trying to devise new contexts for the dancing body and to literally set this in motion with accompanying sonic experiments.

In this hypermedia club performance with joint live sets, performances, light and video installations, club and avant-garde attain a fractal dimension where nothing seems to be impossible. In Plug & PlayMe the intermedially-located Ensemble Garage presents a night of outrageous collaborations that have never been heard before: featuring the grande dame of techno, Electric Indigo, video artists Nika Radić and Lillevan and composers such as Brigitta Muntendorf, Michael Beil and Alexander Schubert.

While Nika Radić’s video works link the club space to the outside world, in his audio-visual installation Solid State Alexander Schubert transforms the interior into an ecstatic state that references the experiential world of rave culture. With instrumentally extended tracks from the new album 511593 Electric Indigo and Brigitta Muntendorf create new syntheses from instrumental and electronic soundscapes while Lillevan offers a new interpretation of the experience of image and sound on the basis of Alexander Schubert’s Silent Posts with musicians from Ensemble Garage. Audio-visual performances by Sabine Akiko Ahrendt and Michael Beil erase the boundaries between musicians, performers and spectators.
