Evgeniya Sotnikova

Evgeniya Sotnikova was born in Kurgan, Russia.

She finishes her studies at the Rimski-Korsakov Conservatory in St. Petersburg in 2008 and in the same year debuts at the Moskauer Nolobov Novaya Opera as Tatjana in Eugen Onegin.

2009 - 2011 she was a member of the opera studio of Bayerische Staatsoper in Munich. As part of the ensemble of Bayerische Staatsoper she sings roles like Erste Waldnymphe in Rusalka, Taumännchen in Hänsel und Gretel, Barbarina in Le Nozze di Figaro, Jano in Jenufa, Anna in Nabucco, La Bergère/Le Rossignol in L’Enfant et les sortilèges and Blumenmädchen in Parsifal in the 2011/12 season.

2012 she participates in Rusalka of Glyndebourne Touring Opera. 2013 she gives her debuts as Ilia in a new production Idomeneo and as Leila in concert performances of Les Pêcheurs de Perles in Klagenfurt, sings Dama in Macbeth in Munich and one of the Blumenmädchen in Parsifal conducted by Stefan Soltesz in Essen.2014/15 she will perform Gemmy in a new production Guglielmo Tell in Munich.

As a concert singer Evgeniya Sotnikova performs 2012 in St. Gallen, 2013 Stravinskij’s Les Noces conducted by David Zinman in Zurich and Bruckner’s Te Deum in Klagenfurt. In Moscow she participates in a gala concert with the State Academic Tchaikovsky Symphony Orchestra conducted by Vladimir Fedosseev.

2014 she gives her debut at the Ruhrtriennale in Louis Andriessen‘s De Materie. In 2015 she will sing in Klagenfurt for the first time the part of Soeur Constance in Poulenc’s Les Dialogues des Carmélites.
