Wojtek Ziemilski

The 34-year-old Polish director Wojtek Ziemilski, born in 1977 in Stanford, California, studied directing in Lisbon and later held international workshops in which he experimented with the lines dividing theater, dance, and fine art. Since his return to Poland in 2009, Polish theater critics have been celebrating him as the most interesting artist of the young generation. As the author of one of the most widely read blogs on contemporary art new-art.blogspot.com he is one of the most important voices in the aesthetic and political discussion of his country.  He held his lecture performance Small Narration in 2011 in Germany, in which objectivity of political apparatuses and the fire of subjective memory find their own form of biographic narrative.
