Enter the Void

Enter the Void is graphic, disturbing, remorseless and excessive: with this film Gaspar Noé has delivered his own interpretation of drug-induced states and reading the Tibetan Book of the Dead. Oskar lives in Tokyo as a small-time drug dealer. His sister, with whom he has had a particularly close relationship since their parents died in an accident, works as a stripper and funds his drug habit. Yet it’s not drugs which give Oskar a lethal dose, but the bullets from a police revolver. Freshly separated from his body, Oskar’s spirit wanders through Tokyo’s nightlife, interrupted by scraps of memories and the vague possibility that this could all be a bad drug trip.
