The Forsythe Company
With the foundation of the Forsythe Company in 2005, William Forsythe has created a new, flexible structure for the further development of the diverse creative work which he had begun with the Frankfurt Ballet. Forsythe is renowned for approaching classical ballet as a repository of ideas which offer rich potential for the growth of formal structures. Together with his ensemble of 16 dancers he produces work in the areas of performance, installation, film and educational media, thereby continuing an intense collaborative process which has been formed over the course of 25 years. It is company in residence at Festspielhaus Hellerau in Dresden and the Bockenheimer Depot in Frankfurt am Main.
