Samuel Weiss

trained as an actor at the Max Reinhardt Seminar in Vienna while also appearing at the Burgtheater, Schauspiel Frankfurt and the Staatstheater Stuttgart.  Since 2001 he has been a leading company member at the Hamburg Schauspielhaus.  Samuel Weiss has also enjoyed an extensive career acting in cinema and television productions such as the award-winning cinema short Summertime, the television series Die Albertis and Bella Block and the features Amsterdam (director: Ivo van Hove), Im Sog der Nacht (director: Markus Welter) and Giulias Verschwinden (director: Christoph Schaub).  His audio-book reading of Zwerg Nase after a story by Wilhelm Hauff won the 2003 Prize of the German Record Critics and the Leopold Media Prize.  For the Ruhrtriennale 2009 Samuel Weiss read from the works of Amos Oz.
