Philippe Jaroussky

was born in 1978, initially studied violin, piano and composition, then from 1996 vocal studies and ancient music at the École de Musique National in Paris. His extraordinary voice and performing talent rapidly made him one of the most sought-after interpreters of both spiritual and worldly baroque music and he is featured on several prize-winning CDs. In 2005 he made his German debut to both popular and critical acclaim as Telemaco in Monteverdi’s Ulisse at the Berliner Staatsoper. In 2008 Jaroussky won the Medium Classical Award and the ECHO Classical Singer of the Year from the German Phonographic Academy.
