Nurkan Erpulat
was born in Ankara in 1974. He studied acting in Izmir and theatre directing in Berlin. Erpulat works mainly in Berlin but also in Hanover, Linz, Heilbronn and Dresden. His directing projects include Faked, Beyond – Are you gay or are you Turkish?, You don’t need a travel guide for a village you can see and Turkish-Gold. His productions with young people (Home in the Head and Family Stories at Staatstheater Hannover) were invited to the Theatertreffen der Jugend in Berlin. At the Ballhaus Naunynstraße he has directed Schattenstimmen. He is a member of the advisory council for the promotion of intercultural projects for the Berlin Senate and a lecturer at the UdK Berlin. He is currently preparing a musical play for the Ballhaus Naunynstraße: Lö Bal - it's not political correct, but it's halal!
