Martin Schwab
was born in Möckmühl,Württemberg in 1937. He trained at the Ernst Busch School in Berlin and at the Max Reinhardt Seminar in Vienna. Engagements led him to theatres in Oldenburg, Ulm, Stuttgart, Bochum and Frankfurt/Main. He has been a member of the acting company at the Vienna Burgtheater since 1987. He has worked with all the leading directors of the older and younger generations, including Peter Zadek, Luc Bondy, Claus Peymann, Dimiter Gotscheff, Andrea Breth, Martin Kušej, Philipp Tiedemann, Nicolas Brieger, Karin Beier, Christiane Pohle, Nicolas Stemann, Stephan Kimmig and Stefan Bachmann.
