Hartmut El Kurdi

was born in Amman, Jordan in 1964 and grew up in London and Kassel.  He studied Cultural Studies and worked as a theatre director, actor and writer.  In the last five years he has given over 400 readings of his children’s books in schools, bookshops and libraries.  He won the German Children’s Radio Play Prize for his radio play Angstmän.  Hartmut El Kurdi’s children’s books are: Angstmän, Johnny Hübner greift ein, Ritter, Räuber, Spökenkieker - Die besten Sagen des Ruhrgebiets.
