Danielle de Picciotto
Danielle De Picciotto was born in the USA and completed her studies in New York and Bonn. Her artistic practice covers painting, music and film. In 1989 together with Dr. Motte she founded the Love Parade in Berlin. From 1990 to 1995 she was the singer with the international band ‘Space Cowboys’. Since 2000 with the aid of the Goethe Institut she has exhibited in Hong Kong, Milan, Rome, Tokyo and Mexico City. The German Foreign Ministry bought one of her pictures in 2008 and commissioned her the following year to make a 10 minute art film on the subject “20 years after the fall of the wall and the 12 new EU states”, which was shown in Europe in the summer of 2009.
