Christoph Gurk
After studying Philology, New German Literature and Philosophy in Hamburg, Christoph Gurk worked as a journalist for the city magazine Szene Hamburg and from 1993 as Editor in Chief of the magazine Spex in Cologne. He moved into a curatorial role, conceiving projects for steirischer herbst in Graz and was responsible for the music programme of the Volksbühne am Rosa Luxemburg Platz in Berlin, where he has also worked as a project dramaturg since 2003. Christoph Gurk currently works as curator for music and special projects at the Centraltheater in Leipzig and at the Hebbel am Ufer in Berlin. His articles on music and culture are published in Spex and elsewhere, his writings on art appear in the Berliner Zeitung and die tageszeitung. Christoph Gurk is Music Curator of the Ruhrtriennale 2010.
