Toneelgroep Amsterdam
One of the most significant contemporary theatre companies in Europe, Toneelgroep Amsterdam is based at the Stadsschouwbourg Amsterdam, and consists of an ensemble of twenty-two actors. The company is regularly invited to perform abroad and has participated in numerous international co-productions. Ivo van Hove has been artistic director of the company since 2001. In the last Ruhrtriennale season Ivo van Hove directed Visconti’s Rocco und seine Brüder in the Jahrhunderthalle Bochum, designed by Jan Versweyveld, who has also worked for the company since 2001.
