Martin Wuttke

Actor and director Martin Wuttke was born in Gelsenkirchen and trained at the Figurentheaterkolleg in Bochum as well as the Westfälischen Schauspielschule in Bochum. His career as actor has taken him to theatres such as Schauspiel Frankfurt, Thalia Theater Hamburg, Schauspielhaus Hamburg, Deutsche Theater Berlin, Schaubühne am Lehniner Platz, the Salzburger Festspiele, the Berliner Ensemble as well as the Burgtheater in Vienna. He headed up the Berliner Ensemble during the 1996/97 season and in 1997 turned to directing. Wuttke’s film appearances include Die Unberührbare directed by Oskar Roehler, Die Stille nach dem Schuss by Volker Schlöndorff und in Quentin Tarantino’s Inglorious Bastards. On television he can be seen in the role of Kommissar Andreas Keppler in the series Tatort. In 1995 and 2003 Martin Wuttke was named Actor of the Year by Theater heute.
