Karolina Gumos
Mezzo-soprano Karolina Gumos was born in Gdynia, Poland and studied Song in Poznán and Berlin. Whilst still studying, she was engaged as a soloist in the opera ensemble of the Dortmund Theater in 2002. During the 2005/2006 season, she was a member of the ensemble of the Staatstheater Braunschweig and since the start of the 2006/2007 season, Karolina Gumos has been a permanent member of the soloists’ ensemble of the Komische Oper Berlin. Here she can be heard in roles such as Rosina in Rossinis Barbier von Sevilla, Guiletta in Offenbach’s Hoffmanns Erzählungem, Prinz Orlofsky in Fledermaus or Dorabella in Mozarts Cosi fan tutte. She has won a prize at the international Ada Sari Singing Competition in Poland. She performed in Le vin herbé as part of the Ruhrtriennale 2007.
