Christian Muthspiel
Born in Judenburg, Austria, Muthspiel began learning the piano when he was 6 years old, followed by trombone lessons from the age of 11. Christian Muthspiel is internationally active in the areas both of jazz/improvised music and new classical music, and is a trombonist, pianist, composer and conductor. He has received innumerable invitations to perform in concerts and to conduct concerts and musical productions in leading music centres across the world. He has also been commissioned by well-known orchestras, ensembles and soloists, all of which bears witness to the innovative crossover quality of his work. His main focus is on combining improvised and composed music.
