Anna Netrebko
The internationally successful soprano Anna Netrebko was born in Krasnodar, Russia. She studied singing at the St. Petersburg Conservatoire and achieved her first successes as a soloist at the Kirov Opera under the direction of Valery Gergiev. She played the role of Natascha Rostova in Prokofiev’s War and Peaceat international opera houses such as La Scala in Milan, the Royal Opera House Covent Garden und the New York Metropolitan Opera, which brought her worldwide recognition and made her an international star. Netrebko’s appearances at leading opera houses and concert halls across the world are consistently met with acclaim from audiences and critics alike. She has played roles such as Violetta Valéry in La Traviata, Susanna in Le nozze di Figaro and alongside Rolando Villazón, Massenet’s Manon.
