Vesselina Kasarova

Vesselina Kasarova was born in Stara Zagora (Bulgaria). She studied Voice at the Music Academy in Sofia and performed major roles for the National Opera there while still a student. In 1989 she joined the ensemble of the Zurich Opera where she rapidly became an audience favourite and was celebrated internationally as a major new talent.

In 1991 Vesselina Kasarova made debuts at both the Salzburg Festival and the Vienna State Opera. Recitals and concerts have taken her to Berlin, Rome, Paris, Vienna, Dresden, Milan’s Scala, London’s Wigmore Hall, and New York’s Carnegie Hall, to the Schubertiade Feldkirch, and to the Festival de la Musique Montreux-Vevey.

Vesselina Kasarova has recorded numerous award-winning CDs.
