Lou Wilson

Lou Wilson is a site-specific theatre maker, director, designer and landscape artist. She is the Artistic Director of the newly established ‘Louise Ann Wilson Projects’ and is currently setting up a number of theatre and site-based productions in collaboration with choreographers, poets, composers, psychologists and neurologists. She also creates ‘tailor- made’ and ‘one-to-one’ installation performances in found places using visual arts combined with non-verbal communication including sign language.

She was the co-founder and co-artistic director of wilson+wilson (1997-2008), makers of site-specific theatre whose work included:Mulgrave, a promenade theatre performance, Mulgrave Woods, N. Yorks; Mapping the edge; a city-wide journey across Sheffield, on foot and by bus and tram; News among the seventh floor; after-hours promenade around Clements department stores; House; a journey from room to room in two derelict nineteenth-century workers houses, Huddersfield.

As a theatre designer she has designed productions for, amongst others: Little Jasmine Theatre, BangaloreIndia (site-specific), Manchester Royal Exchange Theatre, Opera North (various site-specific productions and installations), Unicorn Theatre, Theatre Centre and The West Yorkshire Playhouse.
