FIDENA the National Puppet Theatre was founded in Bochum 50 years ago and is considered one of Germany’s oldest theatre festivals.

And yet at the same time it is at the cutting edge of contemporary modes of expression, particularly with regard the fine line between performance and fine art. Today’s puppet theatre encompasses puppetry, object and material theatre as well as physical and visual theatre and performing installations.
