Unachieved and unanswered love are a common leitmotif of medieval myths and singings as well as the ordeals and tasks full of sacrifice. Both phenomena, love as well as sacrifice, are mutually dependent, but also refer to one underlying source: the readiness to go beyond one`s own, to go beyond the restricted and the selfishness. In this complectedness, love and sacrifice are commonly treated throughout the cultural history in several religions and civilisations up to today`s time.
A conversation about Parzival, Merlin, Tristan, Isolde, Jeanne D’Arc and love and sacrifice.
