Konzerthaus Dortmund

The Konzerthaus Dortmund, completed in 2002 after a construction period of only two years, was conceived as a multi-purpose venue. The building complex, characterised by modern glass-and-steel architecture, has become a centre of attraction in public life. In terms of construction, the building is modelled on the hall of the Vienna Musikverein and can accommodate up to 1,550 guests. Thanks to its exceptional acoustics, the Konzerthaus is one of the most prestigious in the region. At about two seconds, the concert hall has a reverberation time that is virtually ideal for classical music.
