A native of Herne in the Ruhr region Gordon Kampe is both famous and notorious for his audacious but subtle humour. In this new, revue-like work with absurdly comic lyrics by Schorsch Kamerun, Wiglaf Droste and others, he conducts a refreshing and reinvigorating deconstruction of operetta together with all its clichés and myths – aided by the wonderful countertenor Daniel Gloger and the seven ingenious members of ascolta under the firm baton of Catherine Larson-Maguire.
