Telling stories with pictures

The photo series in the Ruhrtriennale 2020 program book is made by the photographer Fatih Kurceren, who grew up in Istanbul and lives in Oberhausen. He portrays the various living environments in the Ruhr Area with pictures from his series Pithead (German: Zecheneinstieg) (since 2005). Fatih Kurceren, Stefanie Grebe, Director of the Photographic Collection of the Ruhr Museum, and Stefanie Carp met for a discussion in March.
