Charlotte Pistorius

Charlotte Pistorius, born in East Frisia in 1985, studied Fine Art at Hochschule für Bildende Künste Hamburg and Costume Design at the University of the Arts Berlin with Florence von Gerkan. Her costume designs for dance and performance projects have been seen at the Hebbel am Ufer and the Sophiensaele in Berlin, the Mousonturm in Frankfurt and Salt in Istanbul. Her work as a scenographer in music and documentary theatre has taken her to venues including the state theatres in Braunschweig, Karlsruhe and Saarbrücken and the Staatsoper Berlin. She collaborates closely with the Berlin choreographer Isabelle Schad and the research-based theatre collective werkgruppe2. She was Artist in Residence at Robert Wilson’s Watermill Center in 2009. In 2011, she worked at the Ruhrtriennale as an assistant on Calixto Bieito’s Hanjo and subsequently worked on projects by Romeo Castellucci and Susanne Kennedy in the years that followed. She worked together with Anna Viebrock / Christoph Marthaler for the first time in 2015 at Opernhaus Zürich. She has repeatedly taught at the University of the Arts Berlin.
