Bendix Dethleffsen

Born in Flensburg, Bendix Dethleffsen trained as a conductor at the Musikhochschule in Cologne and while still a student worked as assistant to Ingo Metzmacher at the Hamburgische Staatsoper. From 2001-2006 he was engaged as solo repetiteur and chorus master at the Aalto-Musiktheater in Essen and held the same position from 2007-2009 at Staatstheater Kassel. He conducted numerous opera and ballet performances. Bendix Dethleffsen has been a regular collaborator of Christoph Marthaler, working together for 14 years. He has also created stage music and worked as a musical director for artists including Anna Sophie Mahler, Christiane Pohle, Johan Simons and Benedikt von Peter. He also works as a freelance repetiteur and accompanist.
