Jens Bouttery

Jens Maurits Bouttery was born in Oostduinkerke (Belgium) in 1988. He studied at the Academy of Music and Words, the Ostend Conservatoire and took his Masters in 2011 in jazz percussion at the Royal Conservatoire in Brussels with his graduation piece ‘The Dubtapes’, together with filmmaker Daan Milius and the Jens Maurits Orchestra. He was awarded the prize for Best Soloist at the Brussels Jazz Marathon XL Jazz in 2011. He has composed and performed the music for theatre productions including ‘Camp Jesus’, ‘Rail Gourmet’ and ‘Detroit Dealers’ by theatre collective Wunderbaum, composed film scores and performed in a number of bands.
