Diego Tortelli

Born in 1987 in Brescia ( Italy), he began to dance at Studio 76 under the direction of Alessandra Angiolani and later in the Accademia Nazionale di Roma.
At the age of 16, he joined the school of the Scala of Milan, and then concluded his studies at the age of 19 in the Studio Harmonic of Paris with Wayne Byars.
That same year he moved to Valencia (Spain) and signed up for the Teatres de la Generalitat.
After three enriching seasons there he then joined Luna Negra Dance Theater in Chicago (USA), led by Gustavo Ramirez Sansano. Since January 2012 he has danced at the National Ballet of Marseille, under the direction of Frédéric Flamand.

Diego has worked with choreographers such as Asun Noales, Gustavo Ramìrez, Nacho Duato, Ramòn Oller, Fernando Hernando Madagan, Emio Grego, Lucinda Child, Jiri Kylian, Frederic Flamand and Olivier Duboi, among others.

As a choreographer he has experienced his own work with pieces including RECAPITULO, performed by the Luna Negra Dance Theatre in October 2012 at the Museum of Contemporary Art in Chicago.

This year he takes part in the dance performance IN MEDIAS RES.
