Zahava Rodrigo

Zahava Rodrigo was born in Bremen in 1984. She studied German studies and philosophy in Potsdam 2004 to 2008, then studying art with an emphasis on stage design at Hochschule für bildende Künste Hamburg with Raimund Bauer, Geelke Gaycken and Heike Mutter from 2009 to 2015. Alongside stage sets and costumes, she also creates installations and performance, based on an intense formal occupation with the construction and arrangement of architectures. Often, various overlapping time layers play a role, as well as the interaction of actual spatial perception and memory. She has worked with video installations (52° 26’ 20.6‘‘ N 10° 47’ 58.7‘ ‘E“, 2014), photography and reenactments (Steubenhöft 14, 2014) or drawings (Construction, 2014). In 2014/15 she held a stipendium from Freundeskreis der Hamburger Kunsthochschule.
