Byung-Chul Han is the festival speaker at Ruhrtriennale 2015 and to mark the festival opening will contrast our accelerated world of labour with the model of a time of celebration. To complement his talk, we will screen a film by artist Isabella Gresser, showing the philosopher, who scarcely appears in public, in his hometown of Seoul and at personal sites in Berlin, raising the question of how we want to live today. The film was awarded the Preis der ökumenischen Jury at the Achtung Berlin Festival in 2015 and a special certificate at this year’s Festival des deutschen Films.
